Frequently Asked Questions

Donations

+ How will my donation be used?

Your donation directly supports struggling young readers by providing them with a life-changing program. 100% of this amount is dedicated to delivering the program to struggling young readers. There are no overheads built into this cost. $500 can save one child from illiteracy.

+ Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes, Sing Out and READ is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.

+ What is TUNE into READING?

TUNE into READING is a highly-engaging, computer-based, reading improvement program. Children think it’s a singing game, but they are practicing essential reading skills. Gains of 1 full year after 3 months of use are typical.

+ HOW DOES SING OUT AND READ ADMINISTER ITS SING-TO-READ PROGRAM TO AT-RISK KIDS?

We have two ways: Family Literacy Project (FLiP) home tablets, and After School programs. The FLiP program loans cellular enabled program-loaded tablets to families participating in a 12-week cohort. In After School programs, children have scheduled time using the sing-to-read program on their facilities’ computers or tablets.

+ How will participants be selected?

Priority will be given to families with 3rd grade children who are struggling with reading. Families not initially selected will have the opportunity to be put on a waiting list if they wish. As soon as a tablet becomes available, families will be notified from the waiting list.

+ IF I WANT TO PARTNER WITH SING OUT AND READ to CONTRIBUTE, WHOM SHOULD I CONTACT?
