Sing Out and Read, Inc. has hired Jay Graham as their new Director of Development.

In a powerful demonstration of community solidarity, the Tampa Bay Rays have unveiled the recipients of their 2024 Racial Equity Grant, with Sing Out and READ (SOAR) featured among them.

In January 2020, a South St. Pete family started a transformative journey with the Family Literacy Project (“FLiP”). At the heart of their story are sisters Malaya and Jakyla, each facing unique challenges on their reading paths.

At Sing Out and READ, National Literacy Month is a month-long initiative in which we happily participate. You can too!

Through donations and grants, the nonprofit's Family Literacy Project, or FLiP, aids students age 6 to 12 who struggle with reading skills and come from at-risk, low-income families that can't afford tutors.

New research validates claim, once again, that the Family Literacy Project (FLiP) can end illiteracy through the power of singing: Dr. Timothy Rasinski, Professor of Literacy Education at Kent State University proves terrific results.

At Sing Out and READ, it is our goal to be at the forefront of literacy programming and technology. As part of that mission, we have completed our certification program and are officially Clever Certified!

The Community Hero program recognizes and awards grassroots heroes in the Tampa Bay community whose noble efforts make a positive impact on others.

Starting two years ago, St. Pete Rotary Clubs began partnering with Sing Out and READ to implement the Family Literacy Project (FLiP). Since then, they’ve multiplied their literacy impact ten times!

Carlo Franzblau, Co-Founder and Board Chair of Sing Out and READ, received the Diversity & Empowerment Education Award at the PCUL Empowerment Luncheon on February 25th.
