View Bio →Wendy Leigh is the Interim Executive Director at SOAR and is also is the Executive Consultant at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, where she serves as strategist, consultant, and board liaison.
Leigh has recently enjoyed several chances to provide interim leadership to other small not-for-profits during times of transition, including the Life Enrichment Center and Unity of Tampa.
Leigh has had a successful career spanning education, entertainment, arts, community engagement, marketing, public relations, placemaking, and development. Her forte lies in creativity, placemaking, and connecting people. Her greatest accomplishments include the launching of three new spaces – the LOFT Theatre on her own and then the Shimberg Playhouse (Artistic Director), and Patel Conservatory (VP of Education), during her nearly 20 years of service at the Straz Center. Under her leadership, Leigh brought the Patel Conservatory to full accreditation, and spearheaded the Straz’s diversity initiative, while also building numerous valuable partnerships with organizations in the community.

Score is the Director of Administration for Sing Out and READ, where she plays a central role in advancing the organization’s mission to improve reading fluency and comprehension for children in underserved communities. She partners closely with the Interim Executive Director and Board of Directors to manage strategic scheduling, executive communications, HR compliance, and organizational planning, ensuring smooth governance and operational continuity. Arlene oversees confidential personnel administration, onboarding, and digital records management, leading more than 10 major initiatives annually and generating over $300,000 in efficiencies while modernizing systems that strengthen accountability and audit readiness. Known for her discretion, executive presence, and ability to create structure in fast‑moving environments, she brings a steady, mission‑driven approach to supporting leadership and sustaining organizational excellence at Sing Out and READ.
